OH WHAT A DAY ON THE GREEN FOR OUR LADIES ON 10TH NOVEMBER!

Sporties had 2 teams competing in the Semi-Finals of the District Open Triples and 1 team in the District Senior Triples.

In one Open Triples Semi Final Sue Ryan, Gae Re and Nancy Shaw played against Colleen Starr, Joan Thomas and Sarah Boddington.  In a very competitive game Nancy’s team went down to Sarah’s team.

In the other Semi-Final Sue Langridge, Ruth Higham and Liz Gray played against Jo Ellem, Lynn Bragg and Serena Kreitmeier from Forster.  This was an entertaining and close encounter with Liz’s team winning and progressing to the Final and play against Sarah Boddington’s team. Wow, what a Final it was with both teams evenly matched and kept the spectators on the edge of their seats.  It came down to the last couple of ends with Sarah’s team edging out Liz’s team 28-24.  Congratulations to Sue, Ruth and Liz on a tremendous effort throughout the Open Triples.

In the Senior Triples Semi-Final Vicki Piper, Donna Hampson and Karen Carlton played against Gina Pain, Carole Wright and Sue Davis from Forster.  Karen’s team got off to a good start with the Forster team fighting their way back into the game, however, it was Karen’s team who consolidated and went onto win and progress through to the Final.  Their opponents in the Final were Trish Wilson, Maria Heininger and Sue Thomas from Tuncurry Beach and what a Final it was!  There were so many good bowls played by each player and the scores were so close that after 25 ends they were on 26 shots each and it came down to an extra end to determine the winner.  This too was a tremendous end with Sporties holding a couple of shots, however, Sue Thomas came through to trail the Jack for Tuncurry Beach to win the Final 28-26.  Congratulations to Vicki, Donna and Karen on a tremendous effort throughout their campaign.
