DIVISION 2 FLAG UNFURLING
SPORTIES FIRST REGION PENNANT FLAG – 2024-25 DIVISION 2
There were great celebrations at Sporties on 21st November, 2024 for our Division 2 Pennant Team when the inaugural Manning Great Lakes Bowls Division 2 Women’s Pennant Flag was unfurled.
President Barbara welcomed members, invited guests from Manning Great Lakes Bowls, Club Forster and Sporties Tuncurry, Sporties Bowls Men’s Club, Tuncurry Beach W.B.C. and Forster W.B.C.
Following morning tea, it was time for members and invited guests to go outside for the proceedings. The Division 2 Pennant team of Judy Lawrenson, Helen Campbell, Karen Mudford, Helen Bush, Sue Ryan, Marilyn Fitzgerald, Dianne Blanch, Ruth Higham, and Vicki Piper went outside where Wendy McLaughlin introduced them onto the bowling green and they were welcomed by all the members and invited guests. Manning Great Lakes Bowls President Grant McKirdy then had the pleasure of presenting the winning Pennant Team with their 2024-25 Pennant Badges. It was then time for the Skips Helen Bush and Ruth Higham to unfurl the Division 2 Pennant Flag and there were smiles and cheers all round.
The Ladies then took to the greens for a game of social bowls. Then it was off to have a lovely hot lunch and a couple of drinks and the cutting of the Pennant Cake.
It was tremendous to see members of Tuncurry Beach who were runners up and Forster Division 2 Pennant Teams were able to come along and join in the celebrations with our ladies.
Our Division 2 Team progresses to play in the 2024-2025 Women’s State Pennant Finals at Figtree Bowling Club from 11th March to 13th March 2025.
