2023-2024 CLUB TRIPLES CHAMPIONSHIP
CONSECUTIVE CLUB TRIPLES CHAMPIONS
Our 2023-24 Club Triples Championship commenced on Friday, 26th April Thursday, with 2 games played and they were all competitive and entertaining encounters. Kay Negus’ team and Jackie Houston’s team won their games to progress to Round 2.
Round 2 was played on Friday, 3rd May, with a number of close games coming down to the last couple of ends with Gae Re’s team, Jill Callaghan team and Kay Griffiths’ team winning their games to progress to the Semi-Finals.
The Semi-Finals were played on Thursday, 23rd May14th, and unfortunately Kay Griffiths’ team forfeited to the team of Susan Leonard, Donna Hampson and Jill Callaghan. In the Semi-Final played it was the team of Vicki Piper, Val Feuersanger and Gae Re 27 shots who defeated Pat Bayley, Dianne Blanch and Kay Negus 10 shots.
The Final of the Club Triples Championship was played on Friday, 24th May, between Vicki Piper, Val Feuersanger, Gae Re and Susan Leonard, Donna Hampson, Jill Callaghan.
After 2 ends it was 2 all. Then from End 3 it was Gae Re’s team who dominated the game early and never let up until the final bowl was played. Despite the efforts of Susan, Donna and Jill, Gae’s team maintained a good lead throughout the game. The final score was 31-4 in favour of Vicki, Val and Gae, crowning them 2023-24 Club Triples winners.
Both teams are to be congratulated on a game played in good sportsmanship. Congratulations to Vicki Piper, Val Feuersanger and Gae Re on a great achievement of winning their second consecutive Club Triples Championship. Congratulations also to Susan Leonard, Donna Hampson and Jill Callaghan on their achievement on reaching the Final and being Runners Up.
A big ‘THANK YOU’ to our Match Committee, Controlling Bodies and Umpires who once again made this Championship a success and run so smoothly.
