2022-23 MAJOR MINOR PAIRS
FIRST TIME WINNERS OF MAJOR MINOR PAIRS
Our 2022-2023 Major Minor Pairs commenced on Thursday, 11th May and the Round 1 winners were Lorraine Moloney and Maz Gorrie defeating Barbara Cross and Vicki Piper and Jenny Baldwin and Lorraine Clark forfeiting their game to Sophie Smith and Julie Curry.
Round 2 winners were Sophie Smith and Julie Curry defeating Lorraine Moloney and Maz Gorrie, Helen Campbell and Lyn McVicar defeating Carmel Moore and Jan Tyson, Joan Berry and Liz Windle defeating Dorothy Derrick and June Kilpatrick and Kay Griffiths and Karen Carlton defeating Di Blanch and Nancy Shaw.
The Semi-Finals were played on 18th May and both the games were extremely close and could have gone either way. Helen Campbell and Lyn McVicar defeated Sophie Smith and Julie Curry 21-18, Kay Griffiths and Karen Carlton defeated Joan Berry and Liz Windle 18-16.
The Final played on 27th May between Helen Campbell and Lyn McVicar against Kay Griffith and Karen Carlton was a great Final to watch played in good sportsmanship. The teams were evenly matched and the scores reflected that. After 4 ends the scores were 4 all, after 8 ends Lyn’s team took the lead 8-5, after 12 ends they increased their lead to 14-9. Kay and Karen fought their way back to be 14-18 after 17 ends, however, it was Helen and Lyn who won the next end with 1 shot to take out the Final 19-14. Congratulations to our Winners Helen Campbell and Lyn McVicar and our Runners Up Kay Griffiths and Karen Carlton.
A ‘BIG THANK YOU’ to TINY (Eric) PACKER for once again Live Streaming the Final. Tiny has Live Streamed a number of our Finals during the 2022-2023 Bowling Calendar and it has been tremendous for the Members, Family and Friends of the Finalists who were not able to come to have the opportunity to watch the Live Streaming. Thanks for providing your time and expertise in this area for the LADIES CLUB.
